Many effective hyaluronic acid-based treatments already exist, but PROFHILO stands out from the rest. The filler used in this unique solution is one of the highest concentrations (64 mg) of ultra-pure hyaluronic acid-based fillers available, and its entire life cycle is controlled by IBSA – Institute Biochemical SA – from the production of the raw material to the finished product.

The PROFHILO effect: multi-level REMODELLING

PROFHILO hyaluronic acid starts to spread in the skin and bind the water content of the dermis immediately after injection (which is why it is a good idea to perform a deep hydration cosmetic treatment immediately before the treatment and to make the guest drink plenty of fluids), so that the whole face can be treated with just a few bio-aesthetic point punctures. Due to the durability of the unique hybrid bonds, the effect is longer, so it is sufficient to repeat the 2 treatments within 6-12 months after the 2nd treatment.

FAQ

Why is Profhilo better than existing fillers?

Profhilo® is not a filler in the classical sense. It does not fill the cavities in the tissues after administration, its mechanism of action is to stimulate tissue regeneration processes. The procedure is painless and safe, there is no rehabilitation period and the results last longer.

How often should I have the treatment?

The degradation period of the active ingredient varies from person to person, ranging from 6 to 12 months. To achieve optimal results, 2-3 treatments are recommended initially (with a 1 month break), followed by a maintenance treatment every 6-12 months depending on individual needs.

Who cannot have the treatment?

Pregnancy, breast-feeding, fever, viral upper respiratory disease, herpes, dermatitis and skin yeast infections are not recommended. Patients under 18 years of age, hypersensitive to hyaluronic acid and patients prone to keloid scarring should not be treated.

What treatments can be combined with Profhilo?

Profhilo treatment can be immediately preceded by any cosmetic solution that does not involve damage to the epidermis or dermis. However, a deep moisturising, nourishing and regenerating treatment is particularly recommended before or even immediately before the Profhilo injection. Biostimulatory, collagen-inducing treatments should be performed 3 weeks after Profhilo treatment or 1-2 weeks before. In individual cases, we can perform thermal thermal stimulation cosmetic treatments, but min. 30 minutes to allow the skin to cool down before Profhilo treatment.

Which active ingredients can be used in the home skin routine after Profhilo treatment?

Following the tenets of “Regenerative Medicine”, the following active ingredients should be included in the daily routine according to the individual skin condition of the practitioner: vitamin C, B3/Niacinamide, Retinol (in the appropriate concentration and cosmetic formulation (e.g. retinyl palmitate incorporated in liposomes), hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, skin fatty acids, fat replacers, as well as peptides, possibly growth factors.

Can guests sunbathe after a Profhilo treatment?

You can continue your normal lifestyle after Profhilo® treatment. It is important to note, however, that strong UV radiation accelerates the breakdown of hyaluronic acid and inhibits collagen synthesis in the body, and strong oxidative stress causes inflammation, DNA damage, cell and tissue destruction. To maintain the long-lasting effects of Profhilo treatment, intense UV radiation should be avoided , sun exposure minimised for 2 weeks and adequate sun protection should be provided every day the guest leaves the home, yes, in winter, autumn and spring. And in summer, a must have to include HV Suncare in every morning skin routine.

What side effects can I expect?

Profhilo® has the lowest side effect rate, thanks to its high purity hyaluronic acid content and additive-free formulation. In the first few days after treatment, susceptible patients may experience small haemorrhages at the puncture sites, which will disappear within 2-3 days.

What should NOT be done after Profhilo treatment?

• The swelling at the injection site will naturally recede within 24-48 hours, during which time massage of the area is NOT allowed
• Avoid alcohol, drugs and smoking for the first 24 hours after treatment.
• Avoid any extreme heat (e.g. hot baths, steam rooms, saunas, sweaty workouts or direct sunlight) for the first 48 hours
• During the first 3 days, the use of exfoliating cosmetic products with an acid content of more than 15% is not recommended
• For the first 5 days, avoid using any device that may put pressure on the face (e.g. helmet, ski goggles)
• Cosmetic treatments involving thermal heat generation (e.g. radiofrequency, laser, IPL, HIFU), medium depth chemical peels and microdermabrasion are not recommended for the first three weeks after treatment
